Cowboys Legend Leads High School Team to State Title Game

 

ARGYLE, TX— A Dallas Cowboys legend has led his Texas high school football team to a State Championship!

Former Dallas Cowboys legendary tight end Jason Witten has led the Liberty Christian Warriors to a state title game in his third season as the Warrior’s head coach. Liberty Christian is in TAPPS Division II and beat Fort Worth All Saints 45-17 last week.

Liberty Christian will play Regents out of Austin, Texas in the TAPPS Division II State Championship in Waco, Texas this Friday, December 1, 2023.Not only is Witten coaching in the state championship, but he also coaches his two sons, Cooper, a freshman, and C.J. a junior, both play for the Warriors.

Witten of course played for the Dallas Cowboys since 2003 and played for 16 years with the Cowboys and spent one year with the Las Vegas Raiders. He has 1,228 receptions with 13, 046 yards and 74 touchdowns over his career.

With Liberty Christian, Witten has a 25-10 record over the past three seasons.
