SAN ANGELO, TX — Thanksgiving is just days away, and many family traditions during the holiday include watching Thanksgiving football. After many overindulge on turkey and other Thanksgiving staples, some traditions dictate an afternoon nap with the football game on. The NFL has a full slate of three games prepared for football fans who are looking to relax on Turkey Day.
NFL THANKSGIVING SCHEDULE
- Green Bay Packers vs Detroit Lions - 11 a.m.
- Washington Commanders vs Dallas Cowboys - 3:30 p.m.
- San Francisco 49ers vs Seattle Seahawks - 7:20 p.m.
GB vs DET
Jordan Love and the Packers travel to Ford Field on Thursday to play a resurgent Lions team coached by Dan Campbell. The Lions continue to play well above expectations this season and currently hold the No. 2 seed in the NFC playoff picture. The Packers are one of the youngest teams in the NFL this season, and the growing pains that come with a new starting quarterback prove it. Detroit won the first matchup in Green Bay 34-20.
WSH vs DAL
The Dallas Cowboys host a struggling Commanders team with rookie starting quarterback Sam Howell. Dallas has to win to keep pace with the NFC's No. 1 team, the Eagles, who have one loss. The Cowboys historically play well on Thanksgiving (32-22-1), so look for another Dallas win this week.
SF vs SEA
Another good rivalry matchup will hit the prime-time slot on Turkey Day when the 49ers face the Seahawks in Seattle. Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith suffered a bruised right tricep in last Sunday’s 17- 16 loss to the Los Angeles Rams. His status is unknown for Thursday, and if Geno can’t go, San Francisco should not struggle to find a win.
