SAN ANGELO, TX — The Angelo State Rambelles Volleyball team will find out its postseason fate Monday night during the NCAA Div II Selection Show. The 2023 NCAA DII women's volleyball championship begins with selections on Monday and continues through the national championship game on December 9 in Moon Township, Pennsylvania, at the UPMC Events Center. The selection show will start at 6:30 p.m.
The NCAA Selection show can be seen tonight on NCAA.com.
The Belles finished the 2023 regular season with a 23-7 overall record and reached the semifinals in the Lone Star Conference Tournament when the ladies defeated UT Tyler in the quarterfinals. In the semifinal game, Angelo State fell to No. 6 West Texas A&M in three sets. It was only the second time in the year that a team swept the Rambelles.
The NCAA released its final set of regional rankings ahead of the Lone Star Conference last week. In that poll, the Belles were listed as the 7th best team in the region. According to the NCAA’s website:
Eight eight-team regionals will be played at on-campus sites. Regional competition will be single-elimination, best three-of-five-set matches and will not include a third-place match. The winners of each of the eight regionals will advance to the finals, December 7-9, at the UPMC Events Center in Moon Township, Pennsylvania.
The eight advancing teams to the final site will be seeded by the Division II Women's Volleyball Committee after completion of the regionals. Competition at the finals site will be single-elimination, best three-of-five-set matches.
