Miles Bulldogs' Football Season Ends in the Hands of the Collinsville Pirates

 

BRECKINRIDGE, TX — In the second round of the Texas high school football playoffs, the Miles Bulldogs faced the Collinsville Pirates under Friday night lights in Breckenridge.

The Pirates swiftly dominated, overwhelming the Bulldogs' defense from the start. Despite a successful season and their first playoff win in years under coach Jayson Wilhelm, the Bulldogs fell to a formidable Collinsville team 69-21.

Collinsville, boasting talents like wide receiver Reed Patterson, is a state championship contender.

Miles concludes its season with notable improvements and overall success.

Postgame, Wilhelm reflected on facing a strong opponent and early turnovers that favored Collinsville. He expressed pride in the team's achievements and acknowledged the need for offseason work. Wilhelm credited this year's seniors for the program's turnaround, but looking ahead, he also highlighted a junior-heavy roster that promises strong prospects for next season.
