Lady Hawks Dominate the Bi-District Round

BANGS, TX — The Wall Lady Hawks Volleyball team traveled to Bangs on Monday, October 30, to play their Bi-District playoff matchup against the Llano Lady Yellowjackets. The Lady Hawks came out strong in the first set and played well throughout the match. Wall outplayed Llano to win the matchup, 3-0, and are 2023 Bi-District Champions.

Wall dominated the front line for much of the first set. The ladies set themselves up well for several offensive opportunities that led to kills and points. Llano made a run down 15-10, but the Lady Hawks recovered quickly to win the first set 25-16.

Llano played better in the second set, but the closest to a lead the Lady Yellowjackets had came early on, tied 2-2. Wall outscored Llano after that, 23-16, behind service aces from Paige Dickson, Peyton Dickson, and Emma Mcshan. Llano went on a five-point run late in the second set but was too far behind for it to matter. Wall won the second set, 25-18.

The third set was much more competitive early. Wall took the lead to kick things off, but this time, Llano hung tough. The Lady Yellowjackets and Lady Hawks took turns trading the lead throughout the early game until the momentum finally shifted in favor of Wall. Tied 4-4, a long rally ended with Llano hitting the ball into the net. Several more points by Wall in a row put the Lady Hawks in the lead, and they never looked back. The tie-break turned into a 21-6 Wall run to end the match. The Lady Hawks took the third set 25-10.
