Angelo State Rambelles Basketball Tips Off Wednesday Against Rice

 

SAN ANGELO, TX — The 2023-24 Basketball season is right around the corner for the Angelo State Rambelles Basketball team. Belles’ Head Coach Alesha Ellis held her first press conference ahead of the Rambelles' first pre-season matchup against Rice University on Wednesday. 

Rice is a Division I school and should prove more than a match for Angelo State as they prepare for another tough conference season. Coach Ellis said that although the ladies achieved great success a season ago, the Belles won the Lone Star Conference last season, but this year, the Belles have loftier ambitions. Ellis said that Angelo State wants a National Championship.

Angelo State returns an All-American and the Lone Star Conference’s Pre-season player of the year in Sawyer Lloyd this season. Lloyd, an ex-Wall Lady Hawk, is an all-around player vital to the Belles’ success this season. Coach Ellis said Lloyd doesn’t shy away from the limelight and has all the tools necessary to live up to the pre-season accolades and expectations.

The Rambelles open their 2023-24 campaign on Wednesday, November 1, when they travel to Houston to play the Rice Lady Owls. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
