RICHARDSON, TX — Two Angelo State Rambelles won conference honors this week for their performances over the last few games. The Lone Star Conference announced on Tuesday afternoon, October 24, that Belles Soccer Katelin Heise and Belles Volleyball Laney Dale earned Defensive Player of the Week and Setter of the Week, respectively.
Katelin Heise, a senior Exercise Science major, and the rest of the defense limited West Texas A&M to a total of only four shots and one on goal for the entire match. The Belles shut out the Lady Buffs to secure a conference win. Heise also was involved on offense when she assisted on two of the goals in Angelo State’s 4-0 victory.
The other Rambelle who won conference honors this week was Laney Dale. For the second time this season, Dale won Setter of the Week. Dale averaged a double-double for the weekend in two matches where the Rambelles swept St. Edward’s and St. Mary’s.
Against St. Edward’s, Dale had 23 assists, 13 digs, and three service aces. In the St. Mary’s match, she posted 24 assists and 17 digs in the win. The Management major averaged 7.83 assists per set.
The Rambelles Soccer team returns to action on Wednesday, October 25, in Lubbock against Lubbock Christian before returning home this weekend to play UT Tyler on Saturday, October 28.
The Rambelles Volleyball team hits the road this weekend to take on Texas A&M Kingsville and Texas A&M International.
