RICHARDSON, TX – The Lone Star Conference announced on Monday, October 16, that Angelo State Rams Andrew Pitts won the Defensive Player of the Week for his performance against Texas A&M – Kingsville. The Rams won that matchup on Saturday, 38-16.
Pitts finished his evening with a team-high nine tackles with seven solo tackles, one interception, and half of a sack to push Angelo State to a dominant conference win on the road.
The Rams’ defense held A&M Kingsville to 267 yards of total offense on Saturday and only 16 points. Angelo State returns to action this Saturday, October 21, for homecoming against UT Permian Basin. The Rams need Pitts to have another big game on Saturday when the first-place Falcons come to San Angelo. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. at LeGrand Stadium.
