SAN ANGELO— Week Eight is here and COVER1 and Carpet Tech has found our Player of the Week.
This week, Sterling City Eagles’ quarterback Ty Turner has earned the Player of the Week Award. Against McCamey, Turner threw 9-13 for 189 yards, 5 passing touchdowns, and 11 yards rushing. On defense, Turner had four tackles and an interception against the Badgers.
The other players considered for this week’s Player of the Week Award:
Jaime Buitron, who went 9-15 for 214 yards and four touchdowns. Buitron’s teammate, running back Edgar DeLuna, had 25 carries for 257 yards and two touchdowns. Sonora’s Kam Aguero has four catches for 142 yards and three scores.
Wall’s Logan Thomas had six tackles, one for loss, one sack, and one pass defended against the Grape Creek Eagles.
Central’s quarterback, Christian English, went 19-30 for 241 yards, two touchdowns, seven rushing attempts for 53 yards and one touchdown. Malik Kates, another Bobcat, has four catches for 120 yards and one score.
Brady’s running back Daryl Adair had 20 carries for 168 yards, one touchdown, 9 tackles, one sack, and one pass defended.
Eldorado Eagles linebacker and running back, Tony Kmeic, had five tackles, one sack, one tackle for loss, three carrries for 27 yards and one touchdown.
