Wall Hawks Face First Real Test of 2023

SAN ANGELO, TX — The No. 4 Wall Hawks head to Cisco on Friday, September 1, to take on the Cisco Loboes at 7 p.m. Wall enters its first away matchup of the young 2023 season after a huge 35-10 win over Eastland in Week 1. Head Coach of the Hawks, Houston Guy, says that despite his team’s win in Week 1, the Hawks still have work to do. San Angelo LIVE!’s Ryan Chadwick met with Coach Guy after practice on Wednesday, August 30, to discuss what he expects from his ball club this weekend in Cisco.

Watch the full interview with Head Coach Houston Guy below:

The Hawks played outstanding on defense a week ago, but the offense turned the ball over too much for Guy’s liking. Eastland is much improved from a season ago, but it is still not a team that will test the Hawks like Canadian or Jim Ned will. Turnovers late in the year can and will be a death sentence for teams in big games. Wall hopes to improve upon that against Cisco in Week 2.

The Hawks travel to Cisco on Friday, September 1, to battle the Loboes. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
