Over his career with the Cowboys and Denver Broncos, Ware compiled 138.5 sacks, 505 tackles, 171 tackles for loss, 35 forced fumbles, eight fumble recoveries, three interceptions, and two touchdowns. Ware also won a Super Bowl with the Broncos when they played the Carolina Panthers in Super Bowl 50.

Ware was drafted by the Cowboys in 2005 in a monster defensive draft brought the team not only Ware, but defensive end Marcus Spears, linebacker Kevin Burnett, defensive end Chris Canty, and defensive tackle Jay Ratliff.
