NEW YORK— The New York Jets have become a super team after signing a Pro-Bowl running back.
Former Minnesota Vikings running back Dalvin Cook has signed with the New York Jets after being cut earlier this offseason. Cook signed a one-year deal worth $8.6 million with the Jets, possibly making Gang Green the team to beat in the AFC this season.
Cook is a productive back with 1,282 carries over six years with 1,000-yard seasons the past four years. Cook was cut due to salary cap reasons.
Now, the Jets have two backs that can tote the rock in Breece Hall and Cook.
This offseason, the Jets have been busy improving their roster starting with the biggest acquisition of All-Pro quarterback Aaron Rodgers from the Green Bay Packers. Rodgers actually took a pretty big pay cut so the team could sign other free agents. In addition to Rodgers, New York drafted both the offensive and defensive rookies of the year last season in wide receiver Garrett Wilson and cornerback Ahmad “Sauce” Gardner.
The Jets have created a super team and are gunning for the Super Bowl. Rodgers, Hall, Cook, Wilson, plus adding Rodger's wish list of players this offseason make the Jets one of the teams to beat this season.
One place fans will be able to watch the Cook acquisition go down is on Hard Knocks this season as they are following the Jets through the preseason with the next episode dropping Tuesday night.
