WATCH: ESPN Analyst Collapses on Live TV

PASADENA, CA — ESPN’s Shaka Hislop is in recovery after collapsing on live television on Sunday night, July 24. The former goalie seemed to lose his balance before falling face-first into co-host Dan Thomas and then to the ground.

The two were discussing AC Milan’s upcoming matchup against Real Madrid at the Rose Bowl before Hislop collapsed. While the broadcast quickly cut to a commercial break, medical personnel was seen attending to Hislop before the cameras turned off. Watch the scary moment below:

Dan Thomas appeared later after the match started to give an update on Hislop’s condition. “My mate Shaka, not here, but as it stands, it’s good news,” Thomas said. “He’s conscious, and he’s talking. I think he’s a little embarrassed about it all. He’s apologized profusely. Not a man who likes people to make a fuss of him.”

Hislop, 54, spent the majority of his career in the Premier League, playing for clubs like Reading, Newcastle United, West Ham, and Portsmouth. He also represented Trinidad and Tobago during his career playing goalkeeper. Hislop ended his 15-year career in the MLS with FC Dallas. He has five children with his wife Desha.

“Obviously far too early to make any sort of diagnosis, but the important thing is, that Shaka’s conscious and we spoke to his family as well, because you imagine seeing that happen live. We spoke to his wife and things are looking OK,” Thomas said in his update.
