SAN ANGELO, TX – The American Baseball Coaches' Association (ABCA) along with Rawlings Sporting Goods announced the 2023 National Pitchers of the Year, naming Angelo State's Kade Bragg the NCAA Division II Pitcher of the Year.

According to Angelo Sports, Bragg, a junior communications major from Ennis, Texas, led Division II in victories with a 15-1 overall record and in ERA at 1.20 through 104 2/3 innings pitched. He allowed only 14 earned runs all season and struck out 124 batters. He set the Lone Star Conference record in wins in a season and ranks third in ASU program history in strikeouts in a season as he helped the Rams to their first national title.

Bragg has been named DII Pitcher of the Year by all three main organizations along with the NCBWA and the D2CCA to earn his third honor.

The ABCA/Rawlings Players of the Year are selected by ABCA coaches' committees from nine divisions of amateur baseball: NCAA Div. I, II & III, NAIA, NJCAA Div. I, II & III, Pacific Association Division, and high school. ABCA/Rawlings First-Team All-America selections were eligible for Player of the Year honors.

The ABCA/Rawlings Award Program is one of the most comprehensive in all of sports, honoring Players of the Year, All-America teams and Gold Glove teams in nine divisions of amateur baseball, as well as All-Region teams in five divisions.
