Legendary WWE Wrestling Villain Dead at 81

 

FATETTEVILL, GA – WWE Hall of Famer and Legend Hossein Khosrow Ali Vaziri, AKA the Iron Sheik, passed away on Wednesday.

According to his social media, one June 7, 2023, the Irion Sheik died at the age of 81.

"Today, we gather with heavy hearts to bid farewell to a true legend, a force of nature, and an iconic figure who left an incredible mark on the world of professional wrestling," stated the Sheik's Facebook Page. "It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of The Iron Sheik, but we also take solace in knowing that he departed this world peacefully, leaving behind a legacy that will endure for generations to come."

According to Bleacher Report, after losing the WWE Championship, The Iron Sheik engaged in one of the most famous and nationalistic rivalries in wrestling history when he butted heads with Sgt. Slaughter. Slaughter beat The Iron Sheik in a famous Boot Camp Match at Madison Square Garden.
