TLCA's Kamille Massey Signs to Play College Volleyball

SAN ANGELO, TX — The TLCA Lady Eagles had their first College Signing of the ‘22-’23 school year on Wednesday, May 3. Friends, family, and the entire student body at TLCA gathered in the gymnasium to congratulate and watch Kamille Massey sign with Crown College in St. Bonifacius, Minnesota.

A multi-sport athlete at TLCA, Massey played Volleyball, basketball, tennis, ran track, and did powerlifting. She also was a member of the cheerleading team. This young lady did it all. While she was good at all of these sports, she decided on only volleyball moving forward. Coach and Athletic Director Kent Sherrill and other TLCA coaches had several good things to say about the young lady, but Coach Sherrill said it best.

“This is a great reflection of our entire athletic program and our school,” Sherrill said. “(Kamille) did a really good job. She represents our school really well. Not only as an athlete but also as a student. Congratulations, Kamille.”

Massey plays all over the volleyball court but says she mostly plays on the front line and outside. She was a part of a Lady Eagle playoff team this season that lost to Blanco in the first round. She will attend Crown College in the fall. The Crown College Polars is a Division III Univeristy that competes in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC).

San Angelo LIVE!'s Ryan Chadwick spoke to Kamille after her signing to discuss her future. Check the entire interview here.

The Lady Polars finished their season in 2022 with a 2-26 overall record. The poor performance prompted the administration to hire Celia Blattner as the new head coach. Crown College heads in a new direction, and Kamille Massey will join right at the perfect time.

Everyone here in San Angelo wishes Kamille nothing but the best and is excited to see what she can do in the future.
