Jackson Mahomes Arrested on Sexual Battery Charges

OVERLAND PARK, KS — Jackson Mahomes, brother to Super Bowl MVP and Kansas City Chiefs Quarterback Patrick Mahomes, has been arrested on suspicion of aggravated sexual battery. An owner of a bar in Overland Park accused Mahomes of allegedly assaulting her and also shoving a waiter in two separate instances.

The alleged incident happened on Feb. 25, 2023, at Aspens Restaurant and Bar Lounge in Overland Park. Video circulating online shows Jackson Mahomes, 22, kissing the 40-year-old owner of the restaurant located at 6995 W. 151st Street in Overland Park, Kansas.

Mahomes, 22, was booked into Johnson County (Kansas) Detention Center on a $100,000 bond at 8:42 a.m. ET Wednesday, according to online records. He is scheduled to be arraigned Friday. A conviction for aggravated sexual battery in Kansas can carry up to a 55-month sentence.

In the video published by TMZ, Mahomes appears to grab a woman by her neck while kissing her. Mahomes attorney, Brandon Daives, denied the woman’s accusations in a statement to KCTV5 in March.

Here is the video footage of the alleged incident.

"We have provided law enforcement with the tools and evidence they need to evaluate the claims against Jackson," Davies said in the statement. "Every interaction between people needs to be placed in the proper context. Releasing a short clip of any video does not provide proper context. We have faith in the process and look forward to a swift resolution of the matter."

Jackson Mahomes has a large presence on social media and frequently attends his brother’s games. He’s made headlines in the past for his social media antics but was all but silent this past season during Patrick’s Super Bowl run. He celebrated the Chiefs' Super Bowl victory earlier this year with his brother at the championship parade in Kansas City.
