Central and Lake View Athletes Advance to the Regional Meet

 

ODESSA, TX — Several Central Bobcats and Lake View Chiefs competed at the Area Track Meet in Odessa for a chance at Regionals over the weekend. The top four athletes in every event advanced to the Regional track meet this Friday and Saturday, April 28-29.

Central Bobcats

100-meter - Landon Eubanks, 11.05

4x100 - Colton Gossett, Jordan Weatherspoon, Landon Eubanks, Tyler Hill - 41.31

4x200 - Jordan Weatherspoon, Andres Diaz, Landon Eubanks, Tyler Hill - 1:28.88

4x400 - Nathaniel Palos, Andres Diaz, Jordan Weatherspoon, Tyler Hill

The Bobcats placed 3rd overall in the Area Meet. They advanced all three of their relay teams and Eubanks in the 100-meter dash. All these athletes will compete in Arlington on Friday and Saturday.

 

Lady Cats

Triple Jump - Mariel Harzke, 35’02”, Nevaeh Hearne, 33’11”

200-meter - Alyssa Delgado, 25.94 (Area Champion)

3,200-meter - Emma George, 11:35.86 (PR)

4x200 - Taelye Self, Nevaeh Hearne, Alyssa Delgado, Madison Delarosa, 1:43.12

The Lady Cats qualified four athletes in three individual events along with one of their relays. They join the guys at the competition in Arlington this weekend.

Lake View Chiefs

Shotput - Jayden Mermella, 46’

Discus Throw - Steven Ferris, 133’6”

High Jump - Derrick Taylor, 6’4”

200-meter - Derrick Taylor, 22.50

400-meter - Brandon Cruz, 50.08

4x100 - Adrian Flores, Brandon Cruz, Martin Arrendo, Derrick Taylor, 43.01

4x400 - Derrick Taylor, Jaiden Fuentes, Francisco Ramirez, Brandon Cruz, 3:28.27

The Chiefs showed out at the Area meet. They advance athletes in seven different events and will compete in Lubbock on Friday and Saturday.

Maidens

100-meter - Skyylynn Carroll, 12.90

200-meter - Kristalyn Herrera, 26.96

4x100 - Jaz Flores, Analycia Vasquez, Skyylynn Carroll, Kristalyn Herrera, 50.84

The Maidens advanced athletes in three events and will compete in Lubbock on Friday and Saturday.
