Water Valley Promotes Interim as New Head Football Coach

WATER VALLEY— Water Valley has found a new head coach.

According to the Water Valley ISD Facebook Page, Water Valley Superintendent Fabian Gomez has promoted Aaron Witmire to athletic director/head football coach after Charles Boles retired due to a cancer diagnosis.

Witmire was the interim head coach last season as Boles was diagnosed with Non-Hodgins’s Lymphoma early in the school year. He spent much of the year in Houston receiving treatment. Gomez said in an email that Boles was back in the Concho Valley but still traveling to Houston for treatment.

Witmire led the Wildcats to a 3-7 overall record last season in Water Valley’s first year back as an 11-man program due to UIL realignment.
