SAN ANGELO, TX — Ex-NFL Quarterback and Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow spoke at the Laura W. Bush Institute for Women’s Health Presents Luncheon Tuesday at the McNeese Convention Center at 501 Rio Concho Drive in San Angelo. Several hundred people attended the luncheon for the chance to hear the Quarterback turned Sports Analyst speak.
After serving lunch, a detailed presentation of all the services that Angelo State calloborates with the Laura Bush Institute for women’s health ensued. Then Tim Tebow took the stage. He delivered a powerful speech about making sacrifices for the people in need. He regailed the audience with stories from his personal life from committing to college to his struggles in the NFL, with the intent to convey the importance of committing to something you can truly believe in. His speech lasted for about half an hour and when he concluded his talk, he left the Convention Center to thunderous applause from the audience.
The Laura W. Bush Institute then accepted donations to the foundation for Women’s Health. Larger donations even had the opportunity to recieve a signed football from Tebow himself. All in all, the luncheon generated awareness and collected a generous sum for Angelo State and the Laura W. Bush Institute for Women’s Health.
A Heisman Trophy winner and two-time national champion at the University of Florida, Tebow played three seasons in the NFL with the Denver Broncos and New York Jets. He has also been a college football analyst for ESPN since 2013, and he is a five-time New York Times best-selling author. However, he is most passionate about his work with the Tim Tebow Foundation, whose mission is to bring faith, hope and love to those needing a brighter future in their darkest hour of need. The foundation currently provides services through four primary ministries and 16 initiatives in over 70 countries. He is married to Demi-Leigh Tebow, a speaker, influencer, entrepreneur and Miss Universe 2017.
The Presents events provide funding for the LWBIWH's Mammogram Program and Educational Outreach Programming. Proceeds will support the health of the local and area communities by further funding medical research specific to gender differences, providing continuing education vital to local healthcare professionals, and expanding the outreach program with events that promote the physical and emotional well-being of Concho Valley residents of all ages.
