Bangs Dragons Hire Offensive Coordinator as New Head Football Coach

BANGS— The Bangs ISD Dragons have found its new head football coach and athletic director in house.

According to reports Friday, the Bangs ISD Superintendent, Dr. Josh Martin, has announced that Jason Cole is taking over as the head football coach and athletic director for the Bangs Dragons.

Cole will be replacing Kyle Maxfield, who took a job at Brentwood Christian, a private school, in Austin, Texas, after being with Bangs for five seasons. Last year, Maxfield coached the Dragons to a 7-5 record and a bi-district championship. Over his five seasons, he posted a 25-22 record.

Cole was the offensive coordinator for Bangs last season and posted 35.9 points per game and just over 240 rushing yards a game. Before getting to Bangs, Cole spent eight years at Quanah and Thrall. At those two schools combined, Cole went 43-35 with several post-season berths.
