FRISCO, TX — The Carolina Panthers requested permission from the Dallas Cowboys to interview Offensive Coordinator Kellen Moore on Wednesday, Jan. 11. Moore interviewed for the head position at Miami and Jacksonville last year.
The Cowboys have the 11th-ranked offense in the NFL this year in terms of total offense. They average 354.9 yards per game. However, they have the 4th-ranked offense in terms of points per game this season at 27.5 points per game.
This request comes on the heels of the Denver Broncos requesting permission to interview Defensive coordinator Dan Quinn for their head coach on Jan. 9. The Broncos also interviewed Quinn last season before they decided to move forward with since-fired head coach Nathaniel Hackett.
The Cowboys have the 12th-ranked defense in the NFL this year, with 330.2 yards allowed per game and 20.1 points allowed per game.
Losing Moore and Quinn to other NFL teams this offseason certainly would shake up a team that has worked together since 2021.
The Dallas Cowboys travel to Tampa Bay on Monday, Jan. 16, to play their Wildcard Matchup against Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Tom Brady is 7-0 in his career against the Dallas Cowboys. Dak Prescott needs to be perfect in this game, or the Buccaneers will send the Cowboys home with another road playoff loss on their record.
