SAN ANGELO, TX — The Concho Valley saw numerous High Schools in action last week, Dec. 12-16.
No. 22 TLCA EAGLES (11-2)
The no. 22 UIL 3A State-ranked TLCA Eagles notched two wins last week. They defeated the Christoval Cougars on Tuesday, Dec. 13, 79-37. Following their victory on Tuesday, they traveled to Decatur to play the Decatur Eagles. Another hard-fought game resulted in a 53-47 win for the TLCA.
Ivan Oviedo led TLCA with 18 points against Decatur. He hit four 3's throughout the game.
Drew Sherrill followed close behind with 15 points.
TLCA travels to Tuscola on Tuesday, Dec. 20, to play the Jim Ned Indians at 7:45 p.m.

LAKE VIEW CHIEFS (5-12)
The Lake View Chiefs and Maidens' Basketball Teams saw action last week, Dec. 12-16. The Lake View Chiefs hosted the Wall Hawks and the Irion County Hornets (7-0), while the Maidens traveled to Fort Stockton to battle the Panthers.
The Chiefs hosted the Hawks on Tuesday, Dec. 13, at Lake View High School. The Chiefs played tough against Wall, but the Hawks' shooting heated up in the 2nd half. The Chiefs fell 57-40.
RJ Bohannon led the Chiefs with 15 points.
Lake View hosted the Irion County Hornets on Friday, Dec. 16, at Lake View High School. Irion County is ranked number 2 in division 1A and was a semi-finalist for the 2021-22 season. The Hornets will make another state title run this year. Despite this, the Chiefs played hard. The Hornets downed the Chiefs 77-51.
Tony Cabrera led the Chiefs with 27 points in three quarters.
Trevin Coffell also led the Hornets with 27 points.
The Chiefs' Junior Varsity team participates in a tournament in Eden on Wednesday, Dec. 28.
LAKE VIEW MAIDENS (2-11)
The Maidens traveled to Fort Stockton on Tuesday, Dec. 12, to play the Panthers. Lake View fell 47-29. The Maidens hosted the Brownwood Lions on Monday, Dec. 19, at 11:15 a.m.
WALL HAWKS (6-5)
Following their victory against the Lake View Chiefs on Dec. 13, the Hawks defeated the Early Longhorns on Friday, Dec. 16, 47-36.
No. 13 LADY HAWKS (12-3)
The no. 13 UIL State-ranked 3A Lady Hawks fell to the no. 5 Tuscola Jim Ned Indians on Tuesday, Dec. 13, in their district opener, 38-35. The close contest bodes well for the Lady Hawks, as both teams have state title aspirations.
The Hawks return to action on Tuesday, Dec. 20, when the boys' and girls' varsity teams host the Grape Creek Eagles. The girls play first at 12:30 p.m.
