NEW YORK CITY, NY – Quarterback for the University of Southern California Trojans, Caleb Williams, is this year's 2022 Heisman Trophy Award Winner. Held in New York City on Saturday, Dec. 10, the ceremony featured the four finalists for the 2022 class.
Georgia Quarterback: Stetson Bennet
TCU Quarterback: Max Duggan
USC Quarterback: Caleb Williams
Ohio State Quarterback: C.J. Stroud
The Heisman Trophy Award is the most prestigious individual award in American sports. Caleb Williams hoisted the 45-pound bronze trophy over his three competitors and permanently etched his name into College Football history.
Caleb Williams transferred away from the University of Oklahoma last year to follow his head coach, Lincoln Riley, to USC. Many had doubts whether Willams would see a drop in his surprising performance in 2021 at OU. Williams silenced all his critics on Saturday night as he added the Heisman to his other prestigious College Football Awards, the Maxwell Award and the Walter Camp Award.
Williams posted impressive stats in 2022 at USC despite falling short in the PAC12 Title game against Utah. He led the Trojans to an 11-2 record this year. Williams went 296-448 for 4075 yards, 37 touchdowns, and four interceptions.
