SAN ANGELO, TX – The TLCA Eagles (2-0) beat the Lake View Chiefs (3-3) in their home opener last night 88-62.
The Eagles played in their home opener last night at the TLCA Complex near Glenna St., went up in the first quarter, and never looked back.
Led by Jaidden Villanueva's 10 points in the first, TLCA put up 24 points to Lake View's 14. The second quarter saw the Eagles double their points to 48 to the Chiefs' 36. Lake View had a rough time in the third and scored nine. TLCA pulled away after halftime by throwing up 20 points.
The Chiefs couldn’t get in front, and TLCA won the game 88-62. Casillas and Villanueva led the team in scoring 22 and 24 points, respectively. Lake View’s Tony Cabrera scored 25 points, followed by RJ Bohannon’s 13 points.
Lake View head basketball coach Courtney Bliskey said his team played better in this game than the first of the season but is proud of his team’s effort. Bliskey also said TLCA doesn’t miss many shots.
The Chiefs play Ysleta at Lake View Highschool on Thursday at 1:00 p.m., and the TLCA Eagles are set to play Monahans on Thursday at 4:00 p.m. at Lake View in the Doug McCutchen Memorial Tournament in San Angelo.
