Sources Confirm Tom Brady Is Retiring from the NFL

TAMPA BAY, FL- Long time New England Patriot quarterback Tom Brady is calling it a career.

According to ESPN, Tom Brady, 44, is retiring from the National Football League following his 22nd season after being drafted 199th overall in the 2001 NFL draft.

Brady’s career started when Jets’ defender Mo Lewis didn’t let Drew Bledsoe slide out of bounds. Brady came into the game and never looked back. His 7 Super Bowl rings, 6 with New England and 1 in Tampa Bay, is a NFL record.

Dubbed the Goat or greatest of all time, Brady’s stats stack up. His 84, 520 passing yards, 624 passing touchdowns, 7,263 completions, 11,317 attempts, and 243 wins are NFL records.

For all-time playoff wins, the Patriots franchise has 37, the Green Bay Packers and the Pittsburgh Steelers have 36, the Dallas Cowboys and Tom Brady himself have 35.

As for the Super Bowl? Brady has been to nearly a 5th of them winning 7 and losing 3.  Including back-to-back wins in 2004 and 2005.

Brady also led the Patriots to a perfect regular season, something no other team has done since the NFL moved to a 16-game regular season. New England would go onto the Super Bowl that year and lose to the New York Giants.

There really isn’t anything else to prove for Brady. He will go down as one of the best players in the history of the NFL. His 15 Pro Bowl season, 7 Super Bowl victories, 5 Super Bowl MVPs, and 3 NFL MVPs speak for themselves.
