Former San Angelo Central Star Quarterback May Leave Texas Tech

LUBBOCK, TX- A Former San Angelo Central standout quarterback may be transferring from Texas Tech University in Lubbock.

Tuesday morning, junior quarterback Maverick McIvor entered the transfer portal which leaves the Red Raiders with one quarterback.

McIvor suffered a leg injury in his freshman season and did not see any action in his three years in Lubbock.

A 3-star recruit out of San Angelo, McIvor chose Texas Tech over USC when current Arizona Cardinal coach Kliff Kingsbury was hired by the Trojans before going to the pros.

In 2017, McIvor threw for 3,415 yards, 43 touchdowns, and 8 interceptions for the Bobcats and ran for 870 yards and 9 touchdowns.

Other schools are free to contact McIvor without restriction but this does not mean he will leave as players are free to withdraw their name at any time.
