Some Great Six-Man Teams in State Semi-Finals in Dublin this Weekend

DUBLIN, TX- Dublin is the place for some Six-Man high school football playoff action this weekend as the state semifinals begins on Friday!

The Greyhounds, led by Head Coach Dewaine Lee, has been to the state championship four times since Lee’s take over including back-to-back championships in 2017-2018. Strawn defeated their rivals, the Gordon Longhorns, to advance and play Richland Springs.

Richland Springs has a pretty good history of their own. They’ve won 9 state titles, dominating their way to 3 consecutive titles from 2010-2012 and back-to-back titles in 2015-2016. The Coyotes dropped last year in the state title game held at San Angelo Stadium to the Balmorhea Bears 38-74.

On Saturday, the Division 1 games will be held and the May Tiger, who lost to the Sterling City Eagles at the state game last season, will face the Abbott Panthers. May only has 1 state title but has been to 5 championships. Both teams are undefeated.

Both the May/Abbott and the Strawn/Richland Springs games will be held in Dublin, Texas. The Tigers play the Panthers on Saturday, December 4, 2021, at 6:00 p.m. and Strawn will square off against the Coyotes on Friday, December 3, 2021, at 7:00 p.m.
