REPORT: San Angelo Central QB1 Sidelined Due To Injury

SAN ANGELO, TX – A source close to the team has confirmed that last night's substitution of San Angel Central starting quarterback Tyler Hill is due to a shoulder injury.

Team staff was seen taking off Hill's shoulder pads and putting his arm in a sling before he was taken into the locker room for further evaluation. At this time it is unclear if the injury involved his throwing arm.

Central head coach Kevin Crane was asked after the loss if Hill was taken out of the game for a precautionary reason due to Central having a playoff spot sealed up and his response was short. "We're not completely sure," said Crane.

Hill was replaced by backup quarterback Ben Imler in the second quarter when the Bobcats were trailing Abilene 21-7. Imler has shown that he has poise in the pocket and is not afraid to throw it deep. The questions regarding his game are his decision-making and his ability to extend plays.

Central has clinched a playoff berth and looks to face El Paso Pebble Hills next Friday night in El Paso in the Class 6A Division II Bi-District Round.
