COVID Cancels Wall Hawks Friday Night Football Game

WALL – The Wall Hawks have canceled their high school football game this Friday against Midland Christian.

Head Coach Houston Guy confirmed that seven players have tested positive for COVID-19.

Without a game this week, the Hawks plan to travel to Mason on September 17th for their matchup against the Punchers should the team be healthy enough.

“A lot will be determined by how fast we get these kids back…some of them became positive on Thursday (September 2nd) and missed the Cisco game.” Coach Guy said. “We were really, really thin, and then we came back from Cisco and a few more test positive.”

Adding to the seven positive COVID-19 students, 4 student athletes are injured.

“It’s tough because we do everything we can to stay healthy, but it’s one of those things. I’m not sure how much of this you can avoid when you’re in close proximity in the classrooms and locker rooms.” said Coach Guy.
