SAN ANGELO – Two high school football games scheduled for Friday night in the Concho Valley have been cancelled due to COVID-19.
Ballinger and Winters have both cancelled their games this Friday against Breckenridge and Eldorado respectively.
Ballinger has cancelled this Friday’s game with Breckenridge due to an increase of COVID infections on the football team. Breckenridge was scheduled to play homecoming this week and are currently looking for an opponent.
The junior varsity teams for Ballinger and Breckenridge will still be held Thursday, September 2, 2021.
Also, the Winters Blizzards cancelled their game against the Eldorado Eagles due to a high rate of positive COVID infections among students.
Winters High School is closed for the rest of the week.
Eldorado, who found themselves among the top 10 2-A teams in the state after their game last week, is also looking for an opponent.
