DALLAS,TX – The Emmy-award winning HBO series “Hard Knocks” will feature the Dallas Cowboys this Fall.
The Cowboys will be the first team to be featured three times on the popular program. America’s Team was the subject of the series in 2002 and in 2008.
There will be plenty of story lines for HBO and NFL Films to capture on film.
One of the big changes this offseason was the move from 4 to 2 preseason games. The Cowboys actually will play 3 preseason games as they face off against the Pittsburgh Steelers in the Hall of Fame game in Canton, Ohio.
For the other two preseason games, the Boys will play the Arizona Cardinals on August 13th. The Cardinals picked up long-time Texan defensive lineman J.J. Watt this offseason. Dallas will also play their regular preseason game against the Houston Texans on August 21st.
One of the storylines the show will more than likely follow is the return of Dak Prescott.
Prescott suffered a season ending ankle injury in week 5 against the New York Giants last year and forced first year head coach Mike McCarthy to have three other quarterbacks start during the 2020 season.
In the 2020 season, the Cowboy’s defense was historically bad. This caused the midseason firing of defensive coordinator Mike Nolan.
This year, Dan Quinn is leading the defense. He was part of the coaching staff in Seattle when the Legion of Boom took over the NFL and was the head coach of the Atlanta Falcons. In his second year as the Falcon’s head coach, Quinn took the team to the Super Bowl.
Hard Knocks will drop on HBO August 10th and will run for 5 episodes.
