The Stamford Lady Bulldogs are 2A State Champions

 

AUSTIN,TX – The Stamford Lady Bulldogs beat the Crawford Pirates, 5-4, in the 2A state championship game Wednesday.

This is the Lady Bulldogs first ever state championship.

Going into the 6th inning, Stamford was down 4-2 and a surge late put the Lady Bulldogs on top. The Stamford pitcher threw two final strikeouts, 14 total for the game, to end the game.

Citaly Gutierrez, the junior pitcher for the Lady Bulldogs, threw 14 strikeouts and hit a home run on her way to earning the games Most Valuable Player award.
