Midland Lee Graduate to Compete in US Olympic Trials

MIDLAND,TX – Charlye Campbell began diving when she was 8-years-old and will now compete in the U.S. Olympic Trials in Indianapolis.

Campbell graduated from Midland Lee and started her collegiate career at Texas A&M as a walk-on.

According to 12thman.com, Campbell was the first female diver in Texas A&M history to become an SEC Championon the springboard with a score of 376.45, a top three score in school history.

Now, Campbell is going to compete against the best the United States has to offer. She’ll be competing in the U.S. Olympic Trials this coming Sunday.

“I think it’s a perfect way to kind of round out my career and just to return back to USA diving meets and just kind of show everybody like ‘This is what I’ve been doing the last four years, this is how good I’ve gotten’” Campbell said. “It’s gonna be a really good final moment for me.”

Of course, should Campbell make the Olympic team, this won’t be the end for her.
