WESTLAKE, TX – Westlake quarterback Cade Klubnik has committed to play college football for the Clemson Tigers.
Klubnik, a junior, led the Westlake Chaparrals to a 14-0 season and won the 6A Division 1 championship against Southlake Carroll this past season in the nations number 1 toughest playoff brackets according to maxpreps.com.
Klubnik also led Westlake to back to back state titles.
In his junior year, Klubnik was 239/353 for 3495 with 35 touchdowns to only 3 interceptions. Rushing, he had 98 carries for 583 yards and 15 touchdowns.
Clemson missed out on Westview (Martin,Tennessee) Ty Simpson who committed to Alabama. They are also expected to lose current quarterback Trevor Lawrence. Lawrence is projected to be the number 1 overall pick in this year's NFL Draft.
Klubnik is the 5th pro-style quarterback ranked on 247sport.com top football recruit rankings and is 74th overall of all players in the nation.
Klubnik had offers from Baylor, SMU,TCU, Texas, Texas A&M, Texas State as well as LSU, Georgia, and Florida among many others.
Clemson is expected to start D.J. Uiagalelei at quarterback this coming season.
