Mason Football Coach Tests Positive for COVID-19; Cheer Sponsor Quarantined

 

MASON, TX – A football coach for the Mason Punchers has tested positive for Coronavirus. 

According to KXAN, on August 3, the coach is currently quarantined but tested positive for the virus. Also the cheer sponsor in Mason is quarantined although she has not tested positive. 

Mason started its first day of practice Monday and that coach was not in attendance. 

Parents, Students, and Faculty have been alerted of the positive case and this has been the only one confirmed so far. 

The Punchers will continue Summer practice before hosting Comanche at the Puncher Dome on August 28. 

In April, 18 people tested positive for COVID-19 in Mason after an in-person City Council Meeting.
