UIL Realignment: The Little Southwest Conference Rides Again

SAN ANGELO, TX — San Angelo Central High School and Abilene High School will no longer be in a district comprised of schools in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex after this morning’s University Scholastic League, or UIL, realignment for 2020-2022, Instead, San Angelo Central and Abilene will be grouped with historical rivals Midland Lee and Odessa Permian, called the “Little Southwest Conference,” with a nod to the former NCAA college football conference where old-time rivals Texas and Texas A&M once were.

San Angelo Central and Abilene will be in 6A Region 1 District 2:

  • Abilene
  • Midland
  • Midland Lee
  • Odessa
  • Odessa Permian
  • San Angelo Central
  • Wolfforth Frenship (Lubbock)

Former DFW area rivals will be in 6A Region 1 District 3. Fort Worth Boswell, Paschal, and Chisholm Trail replace the west Texas schools and the farthest those teams will need to travel will be Weatherford:
