Wall Running Back Out 3-4 Weeks, MRI Shows

WALL, TX — Wall Head football coach Houston Guy received some good news on Tuesday when MRI results showed senior running back Cinch Dickey suffered a bone contusion and ligament sprain in his knee. The good news is it was not an ACL tear.

The team was worried that Dickey would be out for the year, but are now thrilled to learn that he should be back to a hundred percent in 3 to 4 weeks.  Wall kicks off district play against Clyde in five weeks on October 11.

DICKEY OUT 3-4 WEEKS

Dickey made the most out of his limited touches in the defeat of Mason, carrying the ball only two times and breaking one of them for 66 yards and a touchdown.

Running back is one of Wall’s strongest and deepest position groups.  Five different backs touched the ball in week 1 and they all ended the game with at least 50 yards.  The triple option attack relies on this depth and forces the defense to pick their poison when it comes to which playmaker will keep it.

The Hawks have the playmakers still, but will surely miss the senior’s presence on the field this month as it faces quality competition at Cisco this week followed by matchups with Midland Christian, Sonora, and Big Spring.

This is great news.

I'm curious about the Huertz kid's left ankle that was hurt on a PAT. The kid is a nice kicker/receiver and I sure hope his plant ankle is recuperating nicely.
