Red Raider Basketball Player Suspended Due to Title IX Complaint

LUBBOCK, TX -- A rising star on the defending Big 12 Basketball Champions has been suspended after a title IX complaint.

Deshawn Corprew played his first season with the Texas Tech this past year as a sophomore. Looking ahead into next season may take longer than expected for Corprew after a complaint against him from Title IX.

According to KTXS, The school said coach Chris Beard suspended Corprew after learning of the allegations. Title IX complaints can involve allegations of sexual misconduct or gender discrimination, but the school declined to comment beyond its statement.

Corprew averaged just five points a game last season but as an upper classmen now was looking to gain additional minutes.

The extent of the suspension is undetermined at this time.
