Baseball Playoff Pairings: 7 Teams Still Playing in Area Round

 

SAN ANGELO, TX -- The UIL baseball playoffs enter their second week of play and seven teams from the Concho Valley are on to the area round.

Central advanced with a sweep of Arlington Lamar and will face old district rival Odessa High.

The no. 1-ranked Wall Hawks cruised to a 12-2 win over Crane. Following suit with the District 4-3A champion were Reagan County and Brady. The Owls advanced past the bi-district round for the fourth consecutive year while Brady won the program's second-ever playoff series with a sweep of Presidio.

Here are the playoff pairings for this week.

Class 6A

  • Central (23-12-1) vs Odessa (19-10-1): Game 1: May 10, 6 p.m.; Game 2: May 11, 2:00 p.m.; Game 3: 30 minutes after Game 2 (if needed). All games at Hardin-Simmons University

Class 3A

  • Wall (29-0) vs Amarillo River Road (19-10): Game 1: May 10, 6:00 p.m.; Game 2: May 11, 12:00 p.m.; Game 3: 30 minutes after Game 2 (if needed). All games at Snyder's Moffett Field.
  • Reagan County (R4) vs Bushland (W1): Game 1: May 10, 7:30 p.m.; Game 2: May 11, 11:00 a.m.; Game 3: 30 minutes after Game 2 (if needed). All games at Lubbock-Cooper.
  • Brady (16-11-1) vs Shallowater (23-5-1): Game 1: May 10, 7:00 p.m.; Game 2: May 11, 1:00 p.m.; Game 3: 30 minutes after Game 2 (if needed). All games at Hermleigh.

Class 2A

  • Ozona (16-7-1) vs Hawley (18-10-1): Game 1: May 10, 7:00 p.m.; Game 2: May 11, 3:00 p.m.; Game 3: 30 minutes after Game 2 (if needed). All games at Big Spring
  • Eldorado (9-10) vs Stamford (9-15-1): Game 1: May 10, 1:00 p.m., at Hermleigh; Game 2: 30 minutes after Game 1; Game 3: May 11 at Abilene Christian University (if needed).
  • Mason (15-6) vs Riviera (15-8): TBA.
