BOERNE, TX-- The Mason Cowgirls went to the Boerne ISD Tournament this weekend and went undefeated.
They played three games in which they won all of them by at least 19 points.
They defeated New Braunfels 58-37, Del Rio 52-29, and New Braunfels Canyon 44-25.
Presley Anastas and Ruby Magnus were big parts of their teams scoring more than half of their total points in the tournament. Mangus scored 47 points in the three games. Anastas tallied 39 points in those three games.
Lady Steers Eyeing Tournament Hardware at Concho Classic
The Concho Classic Basketball Tournament final is set.
After two wins on Thursday put Robert Lee into the semifinals against Eden, the Lady Steers were able to prevail against the Lady Bulldogs 35-26. That means the Robert Lee Steers will make up one half of the final at 6 p.m. on Saturday.
Sonora picked up a pair of wins on Friday to move into the third place game where they faced Eden on Saturday. The Lady Broncos knocked off Eden 33-21 to make it to the tournament championship.
Sonora kicked off the second day of the tournament with a 47-32 win over Winters. They followed that with a 46-20 win over Bronte to get into the third place game.
Winters will look to rebound in the consolation bracket. They'll face the winner for the winner of Grape Creek and TLCA at 3 p.m.
Lady Cats Split at Caprock
The San Angelo Central Lady Bobcats played in the Caprock Classic over the weekend.
They have won two and lost two so far, but they have a chance to finish on a positive note, as they play Lubbock Coronado at 4:30 p.m.
They started on a good note beating Lubbock Monterey 30-25 in their first game. Parris Parmer played a good first game putting up 10 points.
They then played Lubbock Trinity Christian, but unfortunately lost 48-37.
In their first game on the loser side of the bracket they beat Odessa Permian 53-40. After they dominated Permian, they lost a heart breaker to Hardin Jefferson 50-49.
