AREA BOYS HOOPS: TLCA, Mason into Concho Classic Semifinals

EDEN, TX-- The boy's bracket of the Concho Classic brought just as much excitement as the girls.

Sonora held off Robert Lee for a 42-41 win to start the tournament. Sonora then couldn't get past Mason in a 47-39 loss. Mason's win over Sonora put the Punchers into the semifinal on Friday.

Grape Creek knocked off host Eden 44-38. That set up a meeting with district rival TLCA in the second round. TLCA prevailed in dominant fashion with a 65-26 win in the tournament's nightcap. Because of the win over Grape Creek, TLCA will meet Mason at 4:30 p.m. on Friday in the semifinal.

Eden and Sonora's losses means the two teams will square off at 10:30 a.m. on Friday. Robert Lee and Grape Creek will meet at 1:30 p.m. Those four teams will vie for the other spot in Saturday's championship.
