Wall's Success in Football Mirrored in All-District Superlatives

WALL, TX-- The Wall Hawks’ success on the football field was once again reflected in the All-District selections in District 3-3A Division I.

Wall returned just three starters in 2018, meaning there would likely be a learning curve for the Hawks. With that group, it took Wall just two games to exit that curve.

After losing those first two games to Mason and Midland Christian, Wall won nine straight games. That run included an undefeated season in district. Their season came to an end against Brock in the regional semifinal round of playoffs.

Leading the way for the Hawks were senior running back Mason Kindle and defensive end Gage Weishuhn. They were named co-MVPs for the district.

Weishuhn was a monster up front with 18 tackles for a loss and eight sacks for the Hawks.

The senior defensive end was the anchor not only for the Hawks defense, but the whole team. After injuries plagued the Hawks, Weishuhn turned into a starting offensive linemen for Wall. His leadership was highly praised throughout the season by head coach Houston Guy.

Kindle was a two-way standout for Wall with four rushing touchdowns, two receiving touchdowns and an interception to his name.

Rounding out the superlatives for Wall was sophomore RB Chase Rios. Rios stepped up to become the Hawks leading rusher after being on junior varsity the first week of the season. Rios had 926 yards rushing heading into their final game against Brock.

In all, the Hawks were tabbed 21 times with honors in All-District.
