SAN ANGELO, TX-- The Lake View Chiefs have more accolades to go with their first bi-district championship in four years.
The Chiefs knocked off Clint Mountain View in a thrilling 28-21 result in Fort Stockton on Friday. Lake View won the game after senior David Tanguma intercepted a pass and scored on a 3-yard run four plays later late in the fourth quarter.
Because of that, Lake View was selected as the Class 4A Army Values School of the Week by Dave Campbell's Texas Football Magazine. A team from each classification is selected for the award.
Along with the pride of the Northside, Mesquite Horn (6A), Manor (5A), East Chambers (3A), Haskell (2A) and Gorman (1A) were selected for the honor.
Haskell narrowly edge out Eldorado and Gorman mercy-ruled Eden.
Lake View (3-8) will travel to Abilene's Shotwell Stadium to face Wichita Falls Hirschi (9-2) at 2:00 p.m. Saturday.
