SONORA, TX-- The Sonora Lady Broncos built off their season-opening win last week with a 57-20 win over I-10 neighbor Junction on Saturday.
Sonora jumped out to a commanding 25-4 lead in the first quarter and set the tone for the rest of the game. The Lady Broncos outscored Junction 14-7 and 14-4 in the next two quarters.
Junction outscored Sonora 5-4 in the final period, but the game was already in hand for the Lady Broncos.
Senior Mary Kyle Johnson and sophomore Aislin Nixon led the way for Sonora with 11 points each. Karah Martinez was also in double figures for scoring with 10 points in the win.
Johnson and Nixon also had team highs in assists with six each. Aleasha Smith had five to her name.
Sonora (2-0) will host their other I-10 rival, Ozona, on Monday at 6:30 p.m.
