Water Valley Punches Ticket to State Over Defending Champ Bronte

 

SAN ANGELO, TX-- The Water Valley Lady Wildcats knocked off defending champ Bronte in the Class 1A Region I Final at Central High School. 

The match was a tight one with the Lady Wildcats  winning in four sets. Water Valley won 25-17, 20-25, 25-16 and 25-16.

The first set was very competitive as the score came out 25-17 in favor of the Lady Wildcats. 

Water Valley went on a five point run at the 9 point mark, and the Lady Longhorns were never able to come back even though putting up a late run to get them to 17.

The second set was very close. There were many lead changes and ties throughout the set, but Bronte went on a 5 point run to end the set making it 25-20.

The Lady Wildcats played the third set fast and high as they jumped out to an 8 point lead early and ended up finishing the third set 25-16.

The final set was all Water Valley showing how truly dominant they can be winning the set 25-16.

Water Valley will go to Garland for the state tournament which starts Wednesday.
