Week 11 Players to Watch in the Concho Valley

SAN ANGELO, TX-- The final week of the regular season began Thursday night with a 35-20 win for the Lake View Chiefs.

Players, most notably seniors, are looking to leave their mark in the final week of the season.

Here are the players you should keep an eye on in week 11:

Gunner Couch, Sr., C, Central

Couch has been a four-year starter for the Bobcats and has had an amazing career up to this point. He has won four district titles and a lot of games.

Friday night the Bobcats will host the undefeated Haltom Buffalos (9-0, 5-0) with a chance at a sixth-straight district championship.

With the high level Haltom is playing at right now, the Bobcats will need to play their best game of the season in order to topple the Buffs.

That starts up front for Central's offense.

In order to get their offense going, Couch will need to be the anchor he's been all season for the Bobcats.

If Central were to clinch a district championship Friday night, you could trace their success back to their veteran captain.

Wilson Johnson, Jr., RB, Sonora

The Broncos are in the playoffs after a tumultuous season.

That's because of their players understanding their changing roles after injuries and illnesses took hold of the Broncos.

Johnson has been one of those leaders to step up and embrace the role.

Since Sonora has had to switch from a pass-heavy offense to a run-oriented one, Johnson has flourished.

The junior running back has carried the ball 88 times this season for 538 yards and six touchdowns.

A win against Brady Friday night secures the third place spot for the Broncos.

Wyatt Sisco, Jr., RB/QB/FS, Sterling City

Sterling City has been hit by injuries this season, yet they've remained undefeated at 9-0 overall and 3-0 in district play.

That's been because of junior leaders stepping up to help Sterling City get to this point.

Sisco was highly regarded by his coach for the way he's handled the increase in touches.

Friday night, Sterling City will look to knock off Garden City in arguably the biggest game in the Concho Valley this week.

If Sterling City were able to get the win, you could likely look at Sisco as the reason for that.
