AREA FOOTBALL: Rocksprings Too Much for Beleaguered Menard

 

MENARD, TX-- The Menard Yellowjackets suffered their second district loss of the season in a 26-7 result a home against the Rocksprings Angoras on Friday.

Menard has been bitten by the injury bug this season and were without star running back Christian Salazar once again in week 8.

The Yellowjackets were held to just 180 yards of total offense.

Menard, who typically relies on their ground game, was forced to throw the ball in the wet conditions Friday night. They posted 133 yards passing on seven completions.

Jordan McSherry was 5-of-12 passing for 121 yards and a touchdown with two interceptions for Menard.

Noah Rosas led the rushing effort with 32 yards on seven carries for the Yellowjackets.

Menard (3-4, 0-2) travels to Christoval (5-2, 2-0) on Oct. 26.
