WALL, TX-- The Wall Lady Hawks won their third-straight match with a sweep of the Brady Lady Bulldogs on Tuesday.
The Lady Hawks won 25-9, 25-10 and 25-11 over the first-year program to improve to 21-13 overall and 4-1 in District 4-3A.
Lauren Scherr led the way for Wall’s attack with six kills. Rylee Braden wasn’t far behind with five kills to her name.
The Lady Bulldogs struggled to return Wall’s serve. The Lady Hawks recorded 18 service aces in the win. Scherr and Candra Barnett each had four aces to lead the way.
The Lady Hawks next face Reagan County on the road this Saturday.
Sonora Keeps Momentum for Sweep of Grape Creek
The Sonora Lady Broncos continued their stellar start to district play with a sweep of the Grape Creek Lady Eagles on Tuesday.
Sonora won 25-17, 25-16 and 25-17.
The win moved Sonora to 18-13 overall and 4-0 in District 4-3A.
The Lady Broncos rode the hot hands of senior Mary Kyle Johnson and junior Brae Harris on offense. The duo each posted 14 kills each.
Harris posted another double-double thanks to 13 digs to her name.
Raeven Harris did well setting up the Lady Bronco offense, posting 11 assists to her name. Jackilyn Sykes had 10 assists for Sonora.
It was also the third-straight sweep for the Lady Broncos.
The Lady Broncos will host TLCA this Saturday to close out the first round of district play. It will be the Lady Bronco's Dig Pink match. They will recognize cancer patients at that match and have a silent auction.
