AREA VOLLEYBALL: Bronte Continues to Roll in District Play

BRONTE, TX-- The Bronte Lady Longhorns continued their strong start in District 7-2A with a sweep of Paint Rock on Saturday.

The Lady Longhorns swept Paint Rock 25-2, 25-13 and 25-6 to move to 18-8 overall and 4-1 in district.

Senior Kristen Stilley had 8 kills for the Lady Longhorns. Karissa Cervenka posted 7 kills on Saturday.

Cassidy McWright assisted 15 times in Bronte's attack.

Kaily Torres carved up Paint Rock's serve reception with eight service aces.

Bronte will travel to Rochelle this Tuesday for another district clash. Paint Rock will face Veribest at home on Tuesday.

Veribest Knocks Off Miles in Five Set Shootout

The Veribest Lady Falcons knocked off district foe Miles in five sets at home on Saturday.

Veribest won 22-25, 25-18, 32-30, 23-25 and 15-10. Yes, they won 32-30 in the third set.

Gissele Everhardt's double-double was not enough for Miles. The senior posted 16 digs and 13 kills for the Lady Bulldogs.

Miles' Libby Crouch matched Everhardt's digs with 16 of her own. Tycie Lange had 13 kills as well.

Halle Hudson had 21 assists in the loss for Miles.

Veribest (22-7, 2-2) will travel to Paint Rock on Tuesday. Miles will host District 7-2A front runner Water Valley on Tuesday.
